Wageningen's long-planned monument to freedom (no, not to Prince Bernhard) was erected in the grounds of student society Ceres on 14 April.

It has taken since 2005, when HansHan Roebers' art work was received with derision for the planned location (Hotel de Wereld) and its gas consumption, but above all for its unmistakably phallic form. The Freedom Flame will be lit on the night of 4 May.
