She got into it by chance, when she partnered a wheelchair dancer. Cilia de Groot went on to become the Dutch national champion. Now she is an instructor – for this group of disabled dancers in Epe, for instance. The main thing is to have fun. ‘You have to break through the disability. It is so nice to set them to work. It changes their outlook and gives them such a lot of pleasure.’
