The festival will be held on the 16th of September in and around Orion. Starting from 16.00 o’clock there will be food trucks and market stalls outside. Among other activities, visitors can exchange plant seeds. The theme of the Wageningen edition of the festival is “seeds” and all workshops will have this theme. For example there is a workshop “making seed bombs”, says Hilde Bisshcop from the organization Youth Food Movement. ‘These are small balls of seeds that you can scatter. Very useful weapon for guerilla gardening activities,’ Bisschop says about the worldwide hype. Other workshops are “make your own energy bar”, “cress tasting by Koppert Cress” and “beer tasting”. The latter two workshops are the only items at the festival that require a small fee to be paid.

The movie, about the Global Seed Vault in Spitsbergen, will start at 19.00 o’clock in the Waaierzaal in Orion. Afterwards there will be a “talkshow”, where experts from both science and practice will discuss the importance of good seeds. Visitors in the room can also participate.
