Wageningen Olympics

Team China was the most fanatical of them all at the Wageningen Olympics on 19 April. Their two coaches had thought up a strategy for success in all the competitions. To no avail. Spain came first, beating not just China but also teams from Mexico, Ameland, Iran and Antigua & Barbados.

Rector magnificus Marton Kropff launched the games by running around the track with a torch and lighting the Olympic flame. After a proper warming-up session, students competed in such games as twister, shot-put and tjoekbal. The Olympics are a join venture between Thymos, Isow and IxESN; a way of getting students of different nationalities together for sports.
