Since it moved to the Nude in 2011, the youth club has rarely thrown open parties in its own clubhouse. Right from the start, local residents objected on the grounds of inconvenience that could potentially be caused by the youth club, even though its premises were on an industrial estate. At the end of April the city council permanently withdrew the license, so there is no future for the club at the former party centre. ‘Realistically, we don’t see any chance of getting an appropriate license for this location,’ says chairperson Saskia Bosman.
The board will now go in search of another location in Wageningen, concentrating on smaller premises with an appropriate license. Until that time, Unitas wants to stay at the Industrieweg.
