Wageningen UR has become a member of the Netherlands Toxicogenomics Centre along with the University of Leiden and the Erasmus University Rotterdam. The centre has been set up to increase knowledge on toxic substances through the use of genomics technology, while reducing the number of animal tests. The four new members strengthen the network that already included the University of Maastricht as well as Rikilt and TNO. According to the direct Professor Jos Kleinjans, the Netherlands now leads the field of toxicogenomics in Europe. / WK
