‘I will be doing my minor here. I will be taking courses such as Land and Water Management, and International Development. When I arrived a month ago I did not know what to expect. I happened to meet so many like-minded people! I hadn’t expected so many international students but this town has a lovely mix of people from diverse backgrounds. I was also really surprised to meet so many other Canadians. I have a great bunch of friends now in Wageningen.

The university seems to have a unique environment and infrastructure. I’m very impressed by the great use of different buildings and materials. Now I’m looking forward to finding out what the courses here are like.

I’m having a great time at the Winter AID. If you’re a little timid, it’s probably the best way to meet new people and make some friends. It is quite similar to the frosh week in Canada. I’ve met so many people from different countries studying courses similar to mine and that’s pretty cool because all of them have really different perspectives.

Wageningen is a lot like my home town Guelph and I already feel quite at home. From whatever I’ve gathered in my time here, I can say that it is a great place for international students. Wageningen University has lived up to its reputation so far and I’m hoping for the most amazing few months to come.’
