The orientation course is a foretaste of the Wageningen Honours Programme and provides a condensed overview of all the elements of the programme. ‘Students can get a taste of the programme and for us it is an opportunity to spot creative students,’ says lecturer Ewout Frankema. After the orientation course there will be a second selection round and students can still decide for themselves whether they really want to take the full Honours Programme. Just like the Honours Programme, the orientation course is made up of several different components.
Dilemma
The ultimate aim, Frankema explains, is for students to learn to form their own opinions on a dilemma they choose themselves, on the basis of literature, films, training courses and masterclasses. Students can obtain more details at information sessions to be held in the lunch hour on 14, 15, 16, 20 and 23 January. They then need to sign up by 7 February. Frankema says students who are in doubt should just sign up for the orientation course. ‘It is a unique opportunity to sample the Honours Programme before committing yourself.’
