Possibility of institute for city problems

Wageningen, Delft and MIT in the running in Amsterdam competition.

Wageningen UR wants to set up a technological institute, in partnership with the Delft University of Technology and MIT in Boston, to develop solutions for the problems cities around the world are facing. The three institutions have put in a bid in a competition set up by the municipality of Amsterdam, which has 50 million euros available for a new institute. Wageningen UR and Delft form the core of the institute, which has the working title of the Amsterdam Institute of Advanced Metropolitan Solutions. MIT will contribute expertise through its Sensible Cities Lab and companies such as Shell and Cisco are also interested.
