During Start-up Week, from 5 to 10 February, nine groups of students came up with products that they thought were potential world-beaters. The winning idea — a muesli bar rich in iron for women, called Fema Iron – came from Rita Razooki, Soumia Majait, Jacqueline Halbrendt and Xuejuan Zhang. Ideas from other groups included a bacterium that eats plastic and ‘leather’ made from fungi. Start-up Week is an initiative of Starthub, a centre that helps students and recent graduates to set up businesses.
