Participant number 100,000

Resource previously reported the 10,000th and the 50,000th high school student to take part in the mobile DNA lab. The counter now stands at 100,000.

To celebrate this, 200 high school students from several towns in the west of Holland gathered in a big marquee on campus on Tuesday to watch BNN TV presenters Dennis Storm and Valerio Zeno (in the safety goggles!) isolating some DNA. The mobile DNA labs consist of experiments carried out at schools, with which six universities hope to generate interest in the molecular sciences. The mobile experiments started in Wageningen in 1997 in a desperate effort to recruit students.
