Osiris wins Golden Nose

Last Saturday turned out to be a good day for Osiris. This student society in Leeuwarden was awarded the Golden Nose, a prize for the best fundraising effort for the CliniClowns. Out of more than 800 initiatives, Osiris had the most votes in the final round.

Right after receiving the prize, the team wasted no time in telling their supporters. Femke Roelofsma, member of the group which organized the fundraising week, immediately posted a message on Facebook: ‘The Golden Nose is ours!!!’ Each year, the CliniClowns Foundation awards the Golden Nose to the best and most original activity in the Netherlands. From the 800 initiatives, one per province was invited to the finals held in the foundation’s head office in Amersfoort. Osiris – with a fundraising week during which its committee members became egg-throwing targets for a good cause, and students could buy anti-hangover breakfasts – was chosen as the best initiative in Friesland. Its activity week raised 2063.19 euros. Society president Siebren de Jong was pleasantly surprised when he heard the news. ‘Not only does the society get some publicity in the process, we could support the CliniClowns at the same time.’
