More rooms in old barracks

Wageningen University is thinking of converting another 75 rooms in the barracks in Ede for foreign students. This is announced by Nico Bijl of the Facilities Services of Wageningen UR.

The 75 rooms, each 24 square metres big, will be located in two buildings in the former Maurits Barracks. These rooms are for Master's students, first and foremost. The units will be rented to the university by the Municipality of Ede, which intends to turn the former barracks terrain into a new housing estate in the future. In the meantime, the municipality lets out the buildings as temporary housing quarters. To make these suitable for the students, the university will have to renovate the kitchens and bathrooms.
