Job Cohen

Job Cohen, former leader of the PvdA (labour party), will be joining the Wageningen UR supervisory board on 1 January. Later in the year he will succeed the current chair, Margreeth de Boer. The supervisory board is getting four more new members in addition to Cohen. One is Harm-Evert Waalkens, former agriculture spokesman for the PvdA in Parliament and an organic farmer. Robert Smith and Siem Korver are company directors in the agricultural sector. The fifth new member, Bert Bruggeman, was chairman of the board of the teaching hospital in Groningen. The supervisory board evaluates the executive board’s policy and is also responsible for the appointments and salaries of these senior executives.
