This follows a thesis by a student of agronomist Egbert Lantinga’s, which casts doubt on the accuracy of the current model of ammonia emissions. This had led to consternation in the agricultural press. Dijksma has asked Wageningen UR and RIVM in writing to conduct further research, preferably at the European level, on the model that calculates the emissions. Wageningen researchers will consult European colleagues about this follow-up study soon.
