Fanatical Wageningen pop fans will see plenty of familiar faces at Bergpop this time as Popcultuur Wageningen is bringing the best acts from the past academic year back to Wageningen. These bands, mainly from Utrecht and Gelderland, will be performing in the square on 6 July. Some will also be giving an unplugged session in the public library, similar to the Quiet is the New Loud series of concerts organized by Popcultuur. Of course the event will finish with the Unitas Afterparty in Café De Overkant. What musical delights can we look forward to? The bombastic sound of Yesterday’s men will be reverberating through Wageningen again after a ‘really good show’ last January. They have also released a new CD since that concert. The folk-pop band Wolves dressed in sheep is also coming back. Other acts are Bodypolitics, Adam & The relevants, Sideditch, Amber Arcade and Caperune. A tip in the eccentric category is the hip electro-sound of Hömpfdingå. These fake Swedes from Gelderland are guaranteed to get you on the dance floor on 6 July. And what exactly are they planning to do with those bananas on stage?
