In the Batavierenrace 8500 students run the relay race from Nijmegen to Enschede. The fastest team take less than eleven hours for the whole 175 kilometre track.
The race is so popular that there are always more students that want to join than places available. Before it was always ‘first come first serve’ but this year this has changed: on the first of December everyone can sign up, and lots will be drawn.
The 44th edition of the race will take place on the 23rd of April 2016. With the relay race money is collected for KWF kankerbestrijding (Dutch Cancer Society).
