Dorine + sculpture

Dorine Dekkers, research assistant on the Freshwater Ecology team at Alterra: 'Just do it and see what comes out of it'

She makes beautiful sculptures of the kind that make you want to touch them. Torsos, animals and abstract works in stone. For Dorine Dekkers, sculpting is a bit like keeping a diary. ‘Sculpting is a kind of mirror for your feelings. The process is often more important than the sculpture that comes out of it.’ You can take a peek at the diary at www.dorine-dekkers-beelden.nl.
