Dizi heights at One World Week

On Saturday 2 April, visitors to the ‘bblthk’, Wageningen’s public library, could acquaint themselves – whether by accident or design - with the sound of Chinese musical instruments such as the dizi (the bamboo flute), the er-hu and the pipa.

Dizi player Ji-er Wang (on the photo) and fellow-members of music group SweetPotato played a mix of classical Chinese music and arrangements of folk songs. Exotic sounds were accompanied by exotic aromas, as Nepalese students and PhD researchers served food from their country. The cultural afternoon was part of One World Week. LdK, photo Sven Menschel.
