Argo wins Varsity cup

Completely exhausted were the Argonauts of the beginners' four as they crossed the finish line at the Varsity rowing race. These first year young ladies surprised friends and foes alike by coming in first in their class during the biggest student rowing competition of the year. And so they won their first cup.

The photo shows, from left to right, Marije Zomer, Leanne Aantjes and Nynke Groot Koerkamp.
Rowing club Argo also did well in the main event: the old four reached the final for the first time since 2004, helped by a favourable placing. In the final, luck was not in their favour, though: an oar from the boat of Gyas hit the rudder of the Gulden Vlies. The team lost control of the boat, which ended by the side.
